Wacissa Monday

I arrived on the river about five pm today and stayed until after eight pm hoping to see a wild turkey. Here are some of my images. It was windy and the river smelled like coffee beans....

  3. Hi David,
I count three when I enlarge the phot. Why do they do that? What kind of snake is this? Say hi to the ivory bill folks at Auburn.

  4. Will do!

Looks like Nerodia taxispilota, the brown water snake. This species likes to hang out in river and stream habitats and are catfish specialists. My guess is that the big one is a female and the other two are interested males.
